Winter Olympics is an educational game for the youngest. IRMA’s production is designed to provide children with knowledge about the world around them, which is important for their development, as well as to become a valuable source of entertainment and curiosities about the title sports event.
The story presented in the project presents the fate of the Papacy sorceress known from previous editions of the series, as well as her friends from the fairytale land called Rainbow Glade: Tosi’s mouse, Barnabas’ bear and Philip’s gnome.
Among the mini-games implemented in the Winter Olympics one can distinguish such tasks as: catching lemmings, ski jumping, ice-cold storage, tobogganing, ice-skating, penguin thawing. There are also numerous rhymes and poems, a colouring book, a multimedia fairy tale and a winter song.
Apart from presenting strictly entertaining values, the project also influences the intellect of the youngest recipients, teaching them, among others, reading (syllable synthesis of words) and counting (counting of elements). In addition, children learn about nature (tundra, lemmings, muskrats, reindeer), people and the environment (Inuit, igloo, glaciers) and atmospheric phenomena (the polar aurora). The programme also includes a number of interesting facts about winter sports. Finally, it should be noted that the title is completely non-violent, making it ideal for pre-school and early school-age children.
