## Description
_Zetrix_ is a freeware Tetris variant, in which the player can choose between
ten different languages, four difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard and
impossible), which distinguish from each other in the falling blocks’ speed,
four different table sizes and two game modes.
Several various shaped blocks are falling down the screen and the player has
to combine them to rows by rotating and moving the blocks with the keyboard.
When there are no empty spaces left in a line, this particular row disappears.
After completing ten rows you reach a higher level and the speed increases.
While playing the table moves and a background animation, which changes in
every level, tries to complicate your concentration. Apart from these
deactivatable features and the improved graphics, _Zetrix_ plays exactly like
Alexey Pajitnov’s classic, at least in the _classic mode_.
There is also an _enhanced mode_ , which offers additional differently shaped
blocks and bonus tiles. Completing a line in which a bonus tile can be found
has different effects, depending on the tile. A dynamite filled tile destroys
all blocks in its surrounding area, a tile filled with a dollar sign adds 1024
to your score, a transparent blue tile is filled with water and increases the
water level at the bottom of the table making it harder for the player and a
shining red tile lets the water decrease again.
Furthermore, _Zetrix_ offers a multiplayer mode for two players. Playing in a
splitscreen mode either via TCP/IP or at the same computer one can choose
between three different modes. In the _duel_ the player with the most points
win, in the race mode the one wins who has completed 50 rows first and in the
_co-op_ mode the players work together.
