The first game in the Christmas subseries of Lemmings franchise. The product is more of a curio rather than a full-fledged installment in the series. Released in 1991, Xmas Lemmings 1991 offers four levels: two Christmas-themed and two regular. The latter come from Oh No! More Lemmings.
As far as the Christmas levels are concerned, it is clearly visible that the graphics are different. Lemmings got rid of their blue doublets and now they wear Santas clothes. Of course, both levels are set in a winter scenery full of snow, ice and Christmas ornaments. The classic levels, on the other hand, are an exact reconstruction of those known from Oh No! More Lemmings. The goal is the same in both cases to get the lemmings to the exit safely. In that case, nothing has changed. The difficulty level is not too high and it shouldn’t pose any problem.
Xmas Lemmings 1991 is to be treated only as a demo meant to encourage players to buy Oh No! More Lemmings. Nevertheless, releasing this game gave birth to a completely new, alternative series of Lemmings which was being successfully continued, up to 1994.
