Summary

In XCOM 2, the roles have been reversed, and XCOM is now the invading force. They are hampered by limited resources and must constantly evade the alien threat in their new mobile headquarters. Players must use a combination of firepower and stealth-like tactics to help XCOM recruit soldiers and build a resistance network, while attempting to expose the evil alien agenda and save humanity.

XCOM 2 will introduce gameplay features such as procedurally-generated levels, which will make each experience unique to the player, as well as offer a much deeper level of modding support. Additionally, XCOM 2 will offer a variety of new content including five updated soldier classes, increased soldier customization, more alien and enemy types, evolved tactical combat and more.

Game Analysis	By comparison XCOM 2 is far more demanding than its predecessor XCOM: Enemy Unknown. While the top-down viewpoint and turn-based nature suggests suggests otherwise, XCOM 2 will take advantage of capable GTX 900-series and Radeon R300-series graphics cards. Beware the MSAA option, even the GTX 980 Ti struggles with this forced downsampling effect. XCOM2 continues the story from XCOM: Enemy Unknown, assuming the player lost the fight against the alien menace. Assuming the role of a guerilla resistance task forced, XCOM 2 is a sci-fi turn-based strategy and base builder.

This is a strategy game in which players attempt to save Earth from an alien invasion. From a ¾-top-down perspective, players manage resources, engage in combat missions, rescue characters, and terrorize alien installations. Players use rifles, machine guns, pistols, and grenades to kill enemies (e.g., human-, insect-, beast-like characters) in turn-based combat. Attack moves occur in brief cutscenes that depict characters getting shot or wounded/killed by explosions. Splashes and pools of yellow and red blood sometimes appear when characters are injured or killed. During the course of the game, players can customize soldiers with accessories, including lit cigarettes and cigars.
