Warsaw Racer is Play Publishung’s proposal addressed to the ardent fans of the Polish People’s Republic, who would like to taste the experience of driving the queen of Polish roads, although not necessarily in the form of a realistic simulation.

Players have at their disposal 15 models of cars, or basically variants of the body, because the developers assumed that in their game you can sit behind the virtual wheel of any car provided that it will be the Warsaw M20. Different varieties usually differ in details such as the colour of the hairspray or the shape of the spoiler, but for drivers who prefer wind in their hair there is a cabrio version.

Racer Warsaw offers four modes: race, race against time (time trial), tourist and tournament. All of them are available only for one person’s play. Players can try their hand at four routes leading through the city and undeveloped areas.

The driving model used in the game has little to do with realism. Admittedly, one of the camera setting options allows you to observe the action from the driver’s seat, but the car’s behavior and control are far from simulation. This is evidenced, for example, by the fantastic performance of virtual Warsaw (the car “up to a hundred” accelerates in six seconds) and the ability to rearrange the elements of the environment without compromising the car body.

In terms of technology Warsaw Racer is based on solutions known from the first two versions of the series Maluch Racer. The audio-visual setting is far from the standards of modern car games, and the quality of car models or the presentation of the racetrack environment leaves a lot to be desired.
