Devlin was an outlaw of the Mexican gang Los Gauchos, who grew tired of them
and set up an elaborate plan to walk off with their gold. After some gunfights
and losing his eye, Devlin set himself up for an easy life north of the border
and traded his guns for a priest’s collar. Ten years later, in the year 1862,
Devlin is suddenly attacked by a new gang of outlaws who promptly burn down
his church and steal his gold. There’s only one way to protect his parish and
that’s to return to his gunslinging days.

Wanted Dead or Alive is a Western shooter played from a bird’s eye view in
some levels, and becoming a 1st-person rail shooter in others. In the first
mode, players move Devlin with the keyboard, while changing his orientation
and firing his guns are done with the mouse. In the second mode, aiming and
shooting is also done with the mouse. The game offers a variety of objectives
and a progressing story. Six shooters, shotguns, rifles and dynamite will all
be at Devlin’s disposal as weapons to clear the Texas lands. In a few levels,
the game goes for a stealth approach, and players must sneak up on foes with
only a knife. Crates can be found scattered around which contain weapon
ammunition and health restoration items.
