Venture: Diaries from the Battlegrounds

## Description

_Venture_ is a _Risk_ variant. The map consists of provinces and each is
occupied by one of the four players (either human or AI controlled). The
participants take turns and can choose to attack any province which has its
border near an owned territory. The result is both influenced by random chance
and how many troops are in the defending and attacking province. After all
players made their attacks, they receive reinforcements (the number depends on
how many and which provinces they hold) which can be freely divided on owned
provinces.

The game features five scenarios (stone age, middle ages, pirates, World War
II and space) and the AI controlled characters are fictional or real
personalities from these times, e.g. the pirate Jack Borrow or Erwin Rommel.
Various settings can be customized before starting a new match, e.g.
difficulty, the number of reinforcements or if the setup is random (faster) or
if all players take turns to choose their starting provinces. Besides the
classic domination (trying to conquer everything), there is an alternative
game mode in which players need to protect their capital.
