Vampire Hunter: The Dark Prophecy is an action game created by the Psyonix team using the modern engine Unreal Tournament. Players can play the role of a good vampire (Jack Houston), who must save our world from the invasion of bloodthirsty vampires. It’s a bit strange, but the authors of the game (including Will Nevins, co-creator of such titles as Deus Ex, Daikatana and Anachronox) explain that in Vampire Hunter wanted to expose the human (good) side of vampires commonly considered to be dangerous beasts. So we have our hero equipped with all vampires, supernatural powers (i.e. great physical strength, high speed of movement, etc.), various hand weapons such as axe or shotgun; and hundreds of enemies. This combination guarantees a fast, dynamic and combat-filled action. During the game we can switch between two fighting modes: FPP and TPP. In FPP mode we have full control over firearms and other long-range weapons, and in TPP, we can use different styles of hand-to-hand combat. The whole is interwoven with an interesting plot (numerous film interludes). The game has a very dark atmosphere modelled on such titles as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Undying.
