## Description
_TwoDots_ is a puzzle game and it is the sequel to Dots: A Game About
Connecting. The gameplay remains similar. The player is presented with a grid
of dots, and can connect horizontally or vertically adjacent dots of the same
color in order to remove them from the board. Once they are removed, the dots
above them fall down, and new dots fall into the grid from above. By forming a
closed square, the player can instantly clear all dots of the same color from
the board. New to this game is the “bomb” mechanic; by forming a larger square
and trapping dots of a different color inside, they are turned into bombs that
remove themselves and clear all the dots around them.
Unlike the previous game, _TwoDots_ has the player progress through a sequence
of pre-made levels, presented in the guise of adventuring through various
locales. Each level requires the player to clear a given number of dots of
specified colors, all within a move limit. Completing a puzzle unlocks the
next level, while failing takes away one of the player’s lives. The player is
unable to play while he has zero lives, though they regenerate at a rate of
one every 20 minutes.
Later levels introduce gimmicks in the form of special dot types or board
features. For example, the “underwater” levels contain anchors, dots which
cannot be removed normally but disappear when they reach the bottom of the
grid. In the “arctic” certain locations of the grid are covered in ice which
cracks gradually whenever a dot is removed inside it. These levels typically
require the player to eliminate a specified number of anchors or ice blocks.
Every day, the player receives a special quest, e.g. to clear a specified
number of a given type of object. When the quest is completed, the player is
rewarded with a number of supply crates. Such a crate can be used at the start
of a level; it contains a random power-up which may e.g. remove several dots
or fill the entire board with one color.
The game contains in-app purchases. For real money, the player can quickly
regenerate lives, purchase supply crates, or buy a number of additional moves
if he runs out of time during a level.
