The core idea of the game is that your ship is equipped both with standard weaponry and specialized charged weapons to attack defense grids. Small enemies can be taken down with an assortment of weapons such as minigun, spread fire, wave shot and side cannons. However, large enemies are equipped with powerful shield generators that makes it impossible to be fought with standard weaponry. So, the only solution is to use a charged shot to strike the defensive grid generator. One you fill up a whole row on the enemy’s defense grid, it overloads, causing a chain reaction that damages the shield generator.
To put into layman’s terms, you kill bosses with tetris blocks. XD
