Norfolk Southern’s N-Line diverges from the railroad’s busy Washington, D. C.
– New Orleans main line at Yadkin Junction in Salisbury, North Carolina, then
makes its way southeasterly 25 miles to Halls Ferry, North Carolina. The
Norfolk Southern N-Line is noted for its hard-to-handle “saw tooth” profile,
sharp curves, and journey through North Carolina’s lush and scenic forest
country.

While the Norfolk Southern N-Line has the timeless appeal of a traditional
southern branch line, it is also vital and alive with tonnage traffic and
numerous line-side customers, and in this realistic scenario pack you’ll
experience all the challenges of busy local freight and switching operations.

In ten career scenarios set across different seasons and with versatile
locomotives including the EMD GP38-2, GP40-2, and GP60, you’ll handle Norfolk
Southern Local P92 working each direction over the entire length of the
N-Line. Plus, you’ll handle switching chores at Old Spencer Yard in Salisbury
and take the engineer’s controls of a heavy stone-laden quarry extra!
