Touchdown Hero is a mobile arcade game combining endless runner mechanisms with elements of American football. The production was developed by the Cherry Pick Games studio in Warsaw, a band with such positions as Rollimals or My Hospital.
In Touchdown Hero we get the opportunity to play as an American football player taking part in a very unusual match. As befits an endless runner, an athlete controlled by us rushes automatically through the pitch holding the ball. Of course, at the same time the opposing team tries to stop him, and our task is to use gestures to manipulate the direction of the race in a way that allows the hero to avoid contact with his rivals. In addition to changes of position, we can also repel opponents, perform rotations that make it difficult to catch the character and use mistakes.
According to the title, the aim of the game is, of course, to win apprenticeships. Initially, in order to achieve them, it is enough to bypass a few enemies. But with each subsequent application the distance we have to cover to reach the next one is increased. According to the classic rules of endless runner, a full win is not possible. Sooner or later even the best players will make a mistake and the race will end. All the fun comes down to trying to beat one’s own and others’ point records. The latter is possible thanks to regularly updated online rankings, which allow for comparison of own achievements with the results of the rest of the community.
Touchdown Hero also encourages you to continue playing with the fact that for success we can unlock many different costumes, from those resembling the outfits of official teams to more fantastic ones, such as a uniform reminiscent of a Superman’s knit. All this is shown in nice graphics made in a retro style full of large pixels.
