Thumbelina (in the Polish version of Thumbelina) is a proposal of Aidem Media addressed to the youngest players. The source of inspiration for developers was the famous fairy tale of Hans Christian Andersen. The game has been designed as a mix of educational, adventure and dexterity elements.
The plot of the game loosely refers to the literary original, while the action takes place on the pages of an open book. Players follow Thumbelina’s adventures, and at key moments they can help the heroine to perform specific tasks.
The creators of the game tried to stimulate Thumbelina’s comprehensive development of the child, hence the minigames of the memo type (practicing memory and concentration), costumes shaping the sense of aesthetics, as well as coloring books helping to improve artistic skills. During the game young players have the opportunity to face puzzles, test their dexterity, learn to recognize sounds, and even practice counting while preparing…. pizza.
The control system and user interface have been adapted to the capabilities of the youngest customers. The game is also devoid of any elements of violence, which allows for a completely safe play for the child.
Thumbelina’s two-dimensional visual setting attracts attention with its cartoon style and intense colours. Developers took care of, among other things, nicely presented animations and nice characters of the characters. The fun is pleasurable thanks to the non-imposing background music.
