Mobile edition of one of the most popular strategic-economic series, which has been hosted on computer screens since 1993. The game for users of mobile devices with iOS and Android is in fact a slightly simplified version of The Settlers IV. Gameloft is responsible for its preparation in cooperation with the authors of the original – Blue Byte Software studio.
The game offers a proven mechanics of early stages of the cycle, well-known to players who have already come into contact with computer “Settlers”. Our task is to develop a small settlement into a real empire, based on a complex chain of economic dependencies. As a rule, we start the game from erecting the simplest buildings, such as a cottage of a forester, lumberjack, fisherman, hunter or stonemason. Over time, we are building new structures that will be responsible for processing the raw materials obtained in this way. Finally, there is also the military aspect and a series of buildings that will allow us to recruit soldiers and fight hostile neighbours. The key to success in the game is to take care of the appropriate stocks of individual raw materials and to plan our settlement in such a way that the production chain is as efficient as possible.
Binding the game in the version for Android devices is comparable to the computer prototype, released in 2001. The settlement built by us is vibrant with life, and during the game we can admire the settlers who are wrapped up at work. The creators have prepared four separate campaigns for players, in which we lead four different races: Romans, Vikings, Mayas and the mysterious Dark Tribe. The mechanics of the game is identical for each side, and the differences boil down to the different appearance of the settlers and individual structures. Unlike the fully-fledged versions of the series, The Settlers does not offer “free play” mode or multi-player gameplay options.
Mobile The Settlers for Android is available only from the publisher’s store (Gameloft Store) – the game is not offered by Google Play.
