## Description
The iDOLM@STER is a raising simulation and rhythm game where the
player takes on the role of a producer for talent agency 765 Production. He is
in charge of training 10 pop idols, including Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi,
Yukiho Hagiwara, Yayoi Takatsuki, Ritsuko Akizuki, Azusa Miura, Iori Minase,
Makoto Kikuchi, and Ami and Mami Futami. The player starts by choosing one
idol to train, but may eventually train up to three idols at a time. The three
primary activities in the game are Lessons, which are minigames to raise an
idol’s stats, Communications, which involve increasing an idol’s memories and
fan count by exposing them to the public and doing jobs, and Auditions, which
increase an idol’s fan count, statistics and performance ranking by doing
performances. The game gives a limited amount of time to raise an idol’s rank,
and if the player does not succeed, a retirement concert for the idol is held,
and the player must start over. Each idol has a signature song, and costumes
may be changed for performances.
Game data is saved on two separate card types: a Producer Card for Producer
Rank, and an Idol Card for idol status. One Producer Card may be used for up
to 50 idol units, but Idol Cards are limited to one, so multiple Idol Cards
are needed. The game’s online functions were taken down on September 1, 2010
to make way for The iDOLM@STER.
