The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies – Fight for Middle-Earth

Fight for Middle-Earth is an accompanying premiere of Peter Jackson’s film Hobbit: Battle of the Five Army, an uncomplicated action game, belonging to the genre of hack’n’slash. The publisher of the game is the producer of the film trilogy, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

Ancient evil has returned to Middle-earth. The dark Sauron and his obedient orc armies appeared in the Lonely Mountain area with the intention of silent attack and surprise the unsuspecting enemy. The Great War hangs in the air, and three swaying races of people, elves and dwarves face a difficult choice: to unite in a fight against evil, or to be defeated.

In the game we can choose one of the four sides of the conflict, taking control of a three-person team of people, elves, dwarves or orcs. Each race has its own strengths and weaknesses, although the mechanics of fighting is very similar (except for the elves using the bow). During the game we get to the area of Samotna Gora and the surrounding passes, and our goal is to eliminate further enemy units. During the game we can switch between the members of the team, and the virtual joystick and three buttons responsible for the block, attack and special attack are responsible for the control.

Game graphics and animation are on a decent level. Unfortunately, the authors did not try to add an extensive feature layer. The game is played in the same way every time, and the only goal is to kill as many enemies as possible and achieve the highest score. The progress is illustrated by a summary online ranking showing the current total number of points scored by each race.
