The F.A. Premier League Manager 2002
The F.A. Premier League Manager 2002 is an entry in the series of football
management games from Electronic Arts officially licensed by the Football
Association. This edition has all the features of previous games many of which
have been updated. For example the transfer market has been updated in line
with FIFA’s guidelines, as they were in 2002, and computer clubs clubs can
make counter bids in response to a manager’s offer for a player.
A new Fast View mode is introduced which gives text descriptions of matches.
The Training mode has been improved so that players follow a daily schedule
either as individuals or as a group. The game’s menus have been improved as
has the game’s AI. The game’s editor has also been enhanced. It is a free
standing program that allows the player to customise the fine details of the
game. Using it the player can edit tournaments, teams, players, the game’s
database and graphics right down to changing the kit and the team badge.
In terms of gameplay one major change is the ability to set targets three
seasons in advance and then build a team to achieve them. The game makes clubs
in twenty-one leagues available to manage, the F.A. Premier League is
naturally included but so are European leagues such as the Bundesliga and LNF.
