The 90’s Arcade Racer is a nostalgic racing game maintained in the climates that dominated this genre in the 90s of the last century. The production was developed by Pelikan13 together with Nicalis.
The project was created to recreate the style of gameplay, which was present in racing games, which ruled in salons with slot machines in the 90’s of the last century. The best arcade races of the title decade were inspired by three classics – Scud Race, Daytona USA and Inda 500. The authors not only recreated the gameplay mechanisms of the time, but also reconstructed a specific visual style on a modern graphic engine. The realism of driving was not bothering, and the cars present in the game have no equivalents in the real world. Instead, we get a choice of three vehicles representing the main groups of racing cars – Supercar (an expensive sports model), Stock (a powerful car in the style of those present at e.g. the Nascar competition) and Formula. The first two allow you to make spectacular controlled slides. The last one, however, makes up for the lack of drifting possibilities with much more grip.
The 90’s Arcade Racer offers three maps. Each of them can also be climbed, which gives a total of six routes. The tracks vary in difficulty levels, so there’s something for everyone from beginners to veterans of racing games. Locations are colorful and a mix of reality and fantasy. We can all have fun in races against artificial intelligence or other players in local multiplayer mode. The time trial option also appears. In addition, the gameplay is enriched by the point system, which rewards spectacular manoeuvres on the tracks.
