Taxi Racer London 2
Taxi Racer London 2 is a single player, keyboard controlled racing game set
in London.
In this game the player takes control of nine cars and drives around a 3D
representation of London picking up fares and delivering them to their
destination. The fares are identified by having coloured ‘$’ signs over their
heads, the different colours show the player which are the high paying fares.
A knowledge of London is not needed to play this game as, once a passenger has
entered the taxi, a direction arrow appears and points the way. There are
eight timed taxi missions in the game, each set in a different area of the
city and a different time of the day. In these missions the player has to earn
a set amount of cash from their customers by delivering them to their
destination quickly. For each pedestrian picked up the player receives a bonus
item grenade, missiles, flamethrower, invulnerable, repair, jump, boost, etc.
In addition to the taxi missions there are four races around the city in which
landmarks are used as checkpoints and the player must race between them within
a specified time. Once a race has been finished the time is saved and the next
time the mission is played the player will see a ghost car representing their
current best time which they must try and beat.
Finally there is an untimed mission with no goals and no people to pick up
where the player can just cruise around the city.
The game has multiple camera angles, redefinable action keys, a multiplayer
mode, plays in many screen resolutions from 640x480x16 to 1920x1080x32 and
also supports a steering wheel.
