Susume Tactics is an armoured RTS maintained in science fiction climates. The production was developed by the Japanese studio Riz.
The authors did not bother to create any plot. The action takes place in an undefined future, and we play the role of commander of futuristic tank troops and we have to break through a large set of unrelated missions. The production offers single player mode only and does not include multiplayer options.
On each map our task is simply to eliminate enemy forces. The entire battlefield is shown on one shot and is usually full of various obstacles. Eleven types of tanks are at our disposal. Among them we will find more traditional machines, as well as those focusing on e.g. sniper tasks or long-range missiles. Battles are played in real time and orders are given via a simple touch interface. All commands remain visible on the screen as lines leading to the target movement or attack, making it easy to coordinate the action.
We can play in two modes. In Arcade, the whole game consists in achieving the highest possible point results and the clash lasts for a maximum of a few minutes. The War Mode allows you to take part in hour-long campaigns against Artificial Intelligence. The authors have prepared a large set of difficulty levels, from easy to hellish, so everyone should find something for themselves.
Susume Tactics has a simple vector graphic design made in retro style. It is not likely to delight anyone with the level of detail, but it is very clear, which is a great advantage in this game. Oldskulowe are also sound effects and background music.
