Summer Games 2004 is a sports game, which offers several disciplines within the hypothetical Summer Olympics. Before starting the actual game, players create their own athlete by entering any name, gender, nationality and likeness/appearance (a number of avatars).
In total, the creators have prepared three singleleplayer modes: Training, Arcade and Tournament, as well as the option of multiplayer competition (Hot Seat). Virtual fight for medals takes place in several well-known Olympic disciplines, which were generally qualified to three categories:
* Running: sprint on 100m and 400m, running on 110m and 400m over hurdles, jumping upwards.
* Swimming: free style on 50m / 100m / 400m, butterfly style on 100m / 200m.
* Shooting: with pneumatic weapon (with 25m).
Practically in each of the competition we must first successfully complete the eliminations, then the semi-final and the final take place. Only shooting was divided into two competitions (two series of 30 shots with a specified time limit: 8, 6 or 4 seconds each time the trigger is pulled).
Summer Games 2004 audio-visual binding presents a very decent level of performance, despite the fact that it is a low-budget production. The environment (characters, stadiums, etc.) has been modeled in full 3D (support for graphics cards with DirectX 9 drivers), in most disciplines there is also a possibility to choose the view from which we will observe the virtual struggle (FPP or TPP). Dynamic repetitions, stylized on television coverage, have not been forgotten either.
