## Description

_Sternenschiff Catan: Das Strategische Weltraumabenteuer_ is a game based on
the card game of the same name which is known as _Starship Catan_ in English.
It is part of the highly popular Settlers of Catan series of board and card
games.

In the game you play against one other online player or computer opponent. The
colonists of Catan have travelled into space and have been sucked into a black
hole. When they start to run out of resources they have no other choice but to
colonize planets to mine resources. Resources are required for upgrades of
your starship, such as a bigger cargo hold, a better engine and a canon to
ward of pirates. The goal of the game is to be the first to obtain 10 victory
points. These are acquired by putting up trade posts and colonies and gaining
friendship points and medals.

The game is played completely with the mouse. Each round of play has three
phases: production phase, flying phase and the trade and build phase. Each
colony has a number assigned to it. In the first you roll dice to determine
which colonies produce resources (such as ore, food and fuel). In the flying
face you can turn over cards from the main deck. Your speed determines the
amount of cards you receive. The received cards determine further actions you
may do such as trading, founding posts and colonies, and fulfilling special
quests for the galactic council. In the third and final phase you may expand
your ship and build colonies and trade ships. After the the third phase it’s
your opponents turn to play.
