## Description
_SpacePod_ is a space shooter that can be played either as a single player
game or as a multiplayer game over a the internet.
In an attempt to end wars and bring peace to Earth the superpowers built
Indigo, a self maintaining system that intervened whenever any activity
involving weapons of mass-destruction was detected. The system worked. Over
time peace became the norm and disarmament programs eradicated all nuclear
weapons. However, when the world turned to decommission Indigo they found that
they could not do so. The astronauts sent to do the job disappeared and Indigo
began destroying all facilities capable of launching anything into space. Amid
rumours that Indigo is torturing captured astronauts for information, that it
has developed new weapons of its own and possibly even developed time-
travelling capabilities, a lone astronaut sets out from a previously abandoned
base in a last ditch effort to destroy Indigo.
The player’s ship is flown by either a gamepad or by keyboard controls. Both
single player and multiplayer have four types of game:
* Arcade: This is a series of levels which the player(s) must blast through in order to reach and destroy Indigo itself. the player(s) can collect pods containing weapons, shields, fuel etc to add to their ship. Facing them will be robot ships with exactly the same capability and StarCastles which may contain prisoners. When the StarCastles are destroyed the prisoners will escape and must be collected and transported to rescue vehicles. This game is played to score points
* King-Of-The-Hill: the object of this game is to accumulate the most time inside the zone marked by space-buoys
* Demolition: here the player(s) must destroy a StarCastle and rescue the prisoners. Levels in this game are unlocked by progressing through the Arcade game. This is called Rescue in the game’s manual.
* Deathmatch. Here the player(s) takes on the game’s AI on a randomly generated setting
