Schoolhouse Rock!: America Rock
Schoolhouse Rock!: America Rock is an educational game that teaches
American history and geography for an audience of children aged six to twelve.
It is based on the Schoolhouse Rock! TV series. The game story is told
through a character who attempts to a get a bill passed through the House and
Senate. This is done by winning five mini-games to gain approval for the bill.
Eventually you make it up to Capitol Hill to have it signed into law by the
president.
At the start of the game there is a choice of five bills (about trees,
recycling, museums, friends or air pollution) or the player can write a custom
bill. The mini-games include a guessing game for the different states, a turn-
based strategy game between two armies at Bunker Hill, a game about travelling
worldwide and recognizing the countries, a railroad building game and a morse
code translation game. The final part is presented as a board game. There are
three difficulty levels and along the way different tools are gathered and can
be used. Help in the games is provided through videos shot originally for the
Schoolhouse Rock! program.
