## Description
_SandScript_ is a word guessing game with Middle Eastern themes, two modes
and one mini-game.
In the Genie’s Quest mode, the objective is to guess a word based on clues, to
fill a jar at the right side of the screen within a time limit. The word
letters are hidden as a series of lines and, as in hangman and other spelling
games, the player has to select one letter to make a guess. Letters can be
input with the keyboard, or with the mouse by clicking the alphabet on the
screen.
Each correct guess gives points, and words successfully completed slowly fill
the jar, that has a mark showing the required amount to finish the level.
Wrong guesses remove one of several jewels at the bottom-right, acting as an
energy meter. When all the gems are gone the game is over and the level has to
be restarted. Several correct guesses in a row give combo points, and
discovering the word before the genie flies across the screen in his magic
carpet gives bonus points. Filling the jar completely past the required mark
awards an expert score, and a star at the end of the level.
Some of the word spaces have power-ups, that can be collected by guessing the
correct letter. The power-ups are stored and activated by three buttons at the
bottom. The first one reveals all vowels, the second shows one letter and the
third crosses out five incorrect letters from the alphabet.
The 1001 Nights mode is similar to the previous one, but instead of filling
jars, the goal is to solve as many words as possible before time runs out,
with the timer shown as moon phases. Both modes share the Sultan’s Challenge,
a mini-game that appears between levels where the objective is to unscramble
several words, to gather as many points as possible within the allotted time.
This puzzle can be played as a separate game, accessed directly from the main
menu.
