Rainforest Cascade
Saving the rainforest involves tile-matching in this arcade puzzler. A matrix
of tiles in various forms is presented; swap adjacent tiles to create rows or
columns of 3 or more, and these will be removed. The areas under them will be
turned into gold; turn the entire level to gold (by creating matches over
every square, including the corners) to complete it and receive a bonus for
any remaining time.
Matches cause all tiles above those removed to drop down, with new tiles added
in their places at the top. This can create chain-reaction combos of new
lines, which are also removed and scored. You also have the use of Suns, which
can remove a particular square and make it gold – with a fresh compliment of
six after every five levels.
There are locked tiles which must be removed by a match before they can be
moved – these open up new spaces below them – and cobwebs which are turned
into blocks when a match is made over them.
Bonus tiles also exist, which are activated by making matches with them. Some
remove the entire row, column or both, or a square of blocks around the tile.
Others remove all tiles of that colour, or stop the clock for 15 seconds.
Every five levels there is a bonus level – open five tiles at random for
bonuses such as points and suns.
