## Description
_Pan: Escape to Neverland_ is a tie-in to the 2015 action-adventure movie
_Pan_. It is a prequel to the original _Peter Pan_ story and tells an
alternative origin story for Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The game consists of
six levels with different gameplay. When all six are completed, the cycle is
repeated with a higher difficulty and more powerful enemies, while the
upgrades from the previous cycle are kept. The game mixes first-person
shooting sequences controlling a cannon on a fixed screen for some levels,
with controlling a flying pirate ship using a behind view for the other ones.
The first, third and fourth level are similar to a gallery shooter. From a
fixed position on the pirate ship the player controls a cannon and needs to
shoot down all incoming airplanes until the timer has counted down and the
wave is completed. The cannon can be aimed in any direction and a click or
virtual button is used to shoot. Sometimes there are power-ups, for instance
providing double coins, the basic currency. Each of these levels has a
different cannon. The first has a powerful cannon that can charge for a
powerful shot optionally with zoom, the third level has a machine gun-like
cannon and the fourth level has a sniper rifle-like cannon. In levels two and
five a flying pirate ship is controlled. It needs to dodge zeppelins and shoot
down planes. Unlike the other levels shooting is done automatically as long as
the cross-hair is lined up with an enemy, as most of the attention goes to
steering. In each of these levels the ship has a limited amount of health. The
sixth and final level is a bonus level controlling Peter Pan as he hangs from
a rope of the pirate ship flying in the air, but now in space. Blue, glowing
coins need to be collected while avoiding planets.
Between levels coins can be spent to upgrade accuracy, damage and max health
multiple times. A bonus is provided for killing all enemies during a wave and
the game also tracks the accuracy. The game is free and does not include
monetization, in-app purchases or advertisements, except for the movie
trailer.
