Operation Sandstorm is a representative of the First Person Shooter (FPS) species from the value segment. The programme is rooted in modern realities and uses quite current topics of the armed fight against terrorism.

We play the role of a well-trained and equipped soldier of the elite Special Air Services Brigade. The command has directed our unit to the Middle East in order to neutralise the rapidly developing terrorist organisation Elzar in the area. So we destroy evil in the very embryo, in enemy territory. Five long and extensive missions await us, during which we show great courage, bravery and determination in clearing the world of all kinds of terrorist threat and spitting. We had at our disposal a number of quite deadly, modern puppets (e.g. assault rifles, semi-automatic and machine guns).

Each scenario gives us the opportunity to visit interesting locations and impressive architectural objects (palaces, temples, villages, cave complexes). As the action progresses, we gain the necessary combat experience, thanks to which we significantly increase our potential in combat. Additional attractions of Operation Sandstorm are interactive locations, the possibility of using various types of vehicles and the subject matter – after all, we can feel at least a bit like our domestic soldiers serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. The desert scenery and decoration strongly reminiscent of Arab countries are also conducive to this.

As far as technical issues are concerned, the program will not surprise anyone in a positive way – the graphic design resembles titles from a few years ago, also in terms of content we will not experience any splendour (a moderate number of available weapons or objects). However, this makes up for the low hardware requirements, allowing less affluent users to enjoy the game as well.
