Nibblers is a match-3 puzzle game designed for the AND and iOS platforms. The title was designed by the Finnish studio Rovio, known primarily from the Angry Birds series, but also from Retry’s arcade shoes. It is offered in a free model with micropayments and makes use of the live system.
### Story
The main character of the game is a fish named Coral, who together with her sea friends sets off on a delicious hunting trip. The group of ubiquitous lizards and traps lurking here and there for creatures living under water are an obstacle in collecting fruit.
### Mechanics
In terms of mechanics we are dealing here with a clone of the extremely popular Candy Crush Saga \- the title is a match-3 logical game. The player’s role is to move the elements on the boards and combine them into groups of three or more identical objects. The objectives of the game include: scoring points that determine the level of pass, fighting against lizards, as well as passing challenges. The latter may consist, for example, in collecting a certain number of fruits of a given type or removing mud which makes it difficult to join the elements. Completion of the tasks is complicated by the limited number of moves available to the player. Luckily, he’s helped by his marine friends, who act as power-ups, unlocked by combining four or more elements.
### Game modes
Production offers one main mode of play, in which we face the task of passing more than 200 levels (more are added as free updates). They take the form of irregular charts filled with fruit. In addition to the campaign are social features such as point competition with friends.
### Technical issues
The AND and iOS version of the title enjoys the eye with colourful, nicely animated graphics, made mainly in two dimensions. It also boasts a lively soundtrack and a sophisticated gesture-based control system.
