Summary

Mother 3 is a comedy game, a rural family tragedy, a thesis on growing up and motherhood, a critique of consumer culture and an exploration of the philosophical concepts of mimesis, simulacra and meta-ethics at the same time. I know this all sounds really pretentious, but when you play it, you’ll realize how much heart the game has and how friendly and genuine it is at times — even though by the end of the experience you’ll likely feel quite bittersweet.
Characters- every character is three dimensional, has real motivations that are clearly defined and grounded, and act in extremely memorable ways.
Some of the story beats in this game are AMAZING, better than Earthbound overall in terms of story for sure, possibly even characters. A lot more specific and focused of a story because its split into chapters, only thing maybe lacking at all would be that its shorter. Amazing game either way- very memorable.

It wasn't translated in english.
This game, has just about everything it needs to be “one of the best games of all time.” But it isn’t in English. The only problem I legit have with this game is that it isn’t in English and it had a fan-made translation of it which kinda made me eh eh about it. But that’s pretty much the only thing wrong with game.
But anyways, this is how you make a game. You put characters in a world being torn apart and you throw in a story that’ll hit your feels like your heart on a train track. And don’t forget a dopeass soundtrack then you got yourself a beast mode game. Although there won’t be any more OFFICIAL Mother games, there IS another fanmade one coming pretty soon actually *checks website* …..Ya…hopefully soon. But yes, Mother 3 is the best RPG of all time. The soundtrack is what really got me attached even after playing the game for 20 minutes it got me hooked.
There isn’t alot to say about Mother 3 but it’s a good one. I don’t wanna spoil the story because it’s THAT worth it for you to play all 4 games (even though you should cut all social life in order to do that) but I’m telling you the story is that enriching and refreshing.
Conclusion: Mother 3/Earthbound 2 it’s all a fun roller coaster ride.
