MAGI is a cross between strategy and RPG.

It’s centered around the duels of powerful wizards.

Player takes the role of a dueling wizard and engages in series of magical
duels, involving use of spells, strategy and wits.

Like in the RPG genre, the player has to create a character first. There are
10 different classes (with some special features and skills), 5 attributes and
4 schools of magic (each holding 7 spells) to choose from.

The game itself centers around participating in magical duels with other
wizards. The players chooses which spells to cast and what abilities to use.
Timing and strategy is what decides on victory. The duels are relatively short
and fought in real time. Battling yields the character experience points that
can be used to advance in levels, increase the attributes and to learn new
spells. While the game progresses, the player’s mage grows in age and is bound
to meet the last opponent – the Death herself. This final match determines the
outcome of the whole game.
