## Description

_Luka und das geheimnisvolle Silberpferd_ begins with our eponymous hero
playing with his gang of 10-year-olds at the local playground when a knight
named Sir William is suddenly teleported from his medieval past to this
location, quickly hiding behind a tree. He observes Luka helping younger Patti
who nearly fell off a tree house when the incident occurred. Impressed by his
readiness to help others, the medieval knight makes friends with Luka and
talks him into assisting with the visitor’s quest which comes down to
returning to the past on the back of a mysterious silver horse in order to
ascend the throne. Luka then convinces his friends to join him in this
adventure and sets out to investigate the nature of the silver horse and how
to send Sir William back to the past.

_Luka and the mysterious silver horse_ (translation) is the first game in a
series of educational point-and-click adventures published by the crime
prevention unit of the German police. The game is aimed at children between 8
to 12 years of age and is specifically designed for teaching the kids
violence-free solutions to interpersonal problems. From time to time there are
educational scenes embedded within the plot that will guide the player to a
violence-free solution. Exemplary, there’s evil Sven and his gang sniffing
around the neighborhood and causing problems wherever they pass. Or there’s
some bad vibrations and fighting within Luka’s gang, too. All of these
educational scenes can be accessed separately from a special menu for teachers
to show in the class. There’s even a special teacher’s version of the game
that solely contains these special scenes.

Whatever the problem, Luka will find a way to resolve it with words, not
fists. If he finds the “right” solution to a problem, he can get up to six
commendations from Sir William. When scoring all six, Sir William will give
Luka the accolade. Furthermore, Luka can be played as a boy or a girl. If the
player chooses to be a girl, Sir William turns into Princess Katharina, but
the adventure and the embedded mini games stay the same.
