Kreed: Battle for Savitar
Released shortly after the original, Battle for Savitar is an expansion-pack
for Burut CT’s sci-fi driven role-playing shooter Kreed, which further expands
on the unique game universe.
With all new missions, tougher and greatly more devious AI, and some novel
never before seen enemy monsters, have all been thrown into the mix. Also, a
handful of obligatory freshly added implements of devastation have been put at
your disposal here, to compliment the standard orthodox arsenal from the
previous outing.
The plot scenario involves the game’s protagonist, here serving as a left
tenant of a unitary army, holding back alien enemy forces on a remote Pluto
colony, which is severed from any kind of assistance. It’s now up to you to
face and contend with these unfavourable odds.
In this add-on, the proprietary X-Tend game engine has also been further
enhanced. With an emphasis being placed on exploiting new physics-based
elements, including implementation of dynamic environmental objects, rag-doll
type character entity models, more destructible environment, e.g. – computer
console panels, glass panes etc., and so on.
Incidentally, this engine would be again later employed for the Russian
developers’ 2006 warsci-fi FPS, ÜberSoldier.
