as Agent Chamberlain, professor turned Army General, now working for the
secret government program known as GATEKEEPER, whose main purpose is to defeat
Death and his armies.

The story:
Port City Maine, 1867:
After the war, Death’s army swelled with recruits from both sides. His
newfound power allowed him to begin an offensive against a weakened overworld.
Even now, he stages a quiet invasion as he amasses his monsters in the shadows
of our city. They will dig upward from hell and break through from the deepest
wells, pits and crypts. You must find these holes and plug them, permanently.

You are Agent Chamberlain, professor turned Army General, now working for the
secret government program known as GATEKEEPER.
You lost many men in the war and continue to hold a grudge against death.

Sitis the sword
Artifact of Power recovered from the Underworld.
Sitis is a demon expelled from the ranks and turned into a sword by Death, of
which he now resents. He refused to kill, and was given the tragically ironic
form of a weapon and a thirst for blood. Sitis was recovered from a creek near
Appomattox after a clash with the dead. His assistance as a guide is
invaluable.

Ulysses S. Grant
General of the army, head of the GATEKEEPER bureau, Grant dispatches orders
and telegrams to your office.

King of the Dead
While other gods filled the land and sea with creatures, he emptied it. The
old ones withered away, but Death, lacking the talent to create such beauty,
remained and slowly chipped away at the sculpture.
He is jealous his siblings’ creations on Earth have thrived so long. He craves
destruction, the end of the Kingdom of the living… The end of beauty and
pleasant things.
