## Description

Following Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and Katy Perry: Pop, _Kendall & Kylie_ is
the third game based on the Stardom series. Once again a celebrity guides the
player’s character on the road to fame. For this title it is the sisters
Kendall and Kylie Jenner, known for their TV appearances and modeling careers.
At the start of the game the player creates a custom character who just moved
to Santa Monica for a fresh start in life. As with the previous games a chance
encounter with the celebrity suddenly presents many career options, here they
meet at the Van Norman beauty salon. The sisters take the player’s character
under their wings, making the right introductions, offering tasks and jobs,
and providing invitations to parties and events.

As with all games in the series interaction is limited to tapping icons to
further the story. Sometimes there are branching dialogue options. The most
important elements require a lot of actions that consume energy. Energy drains
fast and regenerates over time, by waiting, watching videos or spending
currencies. There is also cash as the basic currency and the premium K-Gems
currency. There are various locations to visit and people to meet. It is
possible to move up and get better real estate as well as dating someone. An
important difference compared to all other games in the series is that this
one can only be played in portrait mode, not landscape.

There is again much emphasis on the wardrobe, with many customization options
for facial features, hairstyles, clothes, shoes, accessories and lipstick.
These are unlocked by leveling up and most of them need to be bought with the
currencies. A unique element for this title is the extensive use of social
media with an Instagram-like interface. Progress is measures based on the
amount of followers with a ranking in a very long list. Additional followers
can be earned by making new contacts and posting social media updates. There
is also a separate section where custom selfies can be designed, framing
characters with additional elements such as backgrounds, emotions, krew
(adding the Jenners to the photos), stickers and text, reminiscent of
Snapchat. These items are unlocked gradually similar to the clothes. The
Jenners also have their own accounts where they post photos. There are also
short videos where they appear or talk to the player, and many lines are
voiced by them.

Meeting people leads to professional and romantic contacts that can be used to
help out completing tasks. There is a separate gift system where additional
rewards can be earned.
