## Description
_JezzBall Classic_ is an enhanced remake of the original 1992 JezzBall and
aims to be exactly the same, just with higher resolution and frame rate.
Optional extra graphics are also available.
Two Jezz atoms are bouncing around in a capture chamber. The player’s job is
to deploy wallbuilders in vertical or horizontal directions until over 75% of
the chamber has been filled with walls. If pending walls are hit by an atom
they are destroyed and a life is lost. Each wall is built as two parts from
the deployment location, if one half is destroyed the other could still make
it to an already existing wall and thereby successfully become solid. When a
level is complete the player moves on to the next, where another atom enters
the chamber. The final level is 50.
_JezzBall Classic_ also features missions (which works similar to
achievements) and rooms (stand-alone challenges or puzzles). In addition there
are many mods available that can be combined in different ways to create
unique game modes. Several pre-defined combinations are provided, version
2.0.1 comes with 23 named presets (including the original unmodded game). High
scores are saved into a top list, which also keeps track of the each game’s
stats (such as how long a game took). Level records are also kept track of and
are comparable between the four local profiles available, one of which are
reserved for guest players.
Controls are extensively customizable, supporting playing with both a
touchscreen and a traditional mouse. Graphics have many settings as well,
ranging from hundreds of random background images to different wallbuilder
destruction animations. Max resolution is 7168×3840 and framerate can be set
anywhere between 1-120. Each individual sound event is fully modifiable, both
in volume and sample. On PC it is possible to add custom background images
into the available pool and new sounds or music can be added as well.
One of the mods (“Wallcrawler”) changes the deployment of walls to become more
QIX-like. Instead of deploying walls at a specific location you take direct
control of a wallbuilder and deploy wall behind you. Another mod (“Drawing
Walls”) makes it so that you draw the path of the wallbuilders using your
finger/mouse instead of using the default deployment behaviour.
