Jelly Wars

Jelly Wars is a battle game seeing 2 players struggle for win in a randomly
chosen arena. Playing characters are round alive two-eyed jellies.

Three actions can be performed: jumping; punching; throwing a bomb: bombs are
of two types: the Bouncy bomb brings heavy devastation yet it ricochets off
objects, making it more difficult to hit the target; the Sticky bomb sticks to
the first object it comes in contact with, while causing less damage. Holding
and dragging one’s jelly through the touch-screen grants either jumping or
shooting; one action per turn is allowed. A power meter, by its degree of
fullness and direction, determines the jump or shot we are making: actual
trajectory, length and landing point, aren’t displayed, and crucial for
victory is the ability to foresee these by looking at the power meter.

The game plays in landscape view mode. The environment, consisting of trees,
terrain, rocks and clouds, is destroyable by bombs and central to the
gameplay, as it can either hinder or ease players’ intentions. Locales are
surrounded by the sea, and jellies can fall in the water rather easily, in
consequence of a mistaken jump, but also being hit by punch or explosion.

The game is part of Star Arcade’s gaming Network, provided with player
profile, rankings, achievements, cross-platform online gaming (challengers on
Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Symbian, are reunited by game servers), in-game
chat. When no human opponents are available, the player is challenged by bots
disguised as human opponents. In-app purchases are available, consisting of a
variety of hats (which raise hit-points from 100 to 110), score boosters,
bonus backgrounds).
