Honeyblaster
Honeyblaster has classic shoot-em-up gameplay, but with the player
controlling a humble-bee in its natural environment rather than a ship in
space.
The initial release of the game, made for the Buenzli #16 demoparty, contains
3 levels, each with an end boss. Enemies include all kinds of bugs, flies,
spiders and larger insects. The bee starts with a basic weapon and grenades,
but more can be collected and powered up along the way, including a laser and
a sonic blaster. There is also a scarce amount of megabombs that clear the
entire screen. Enemies leave behind coins that can be collected to improve the
high scores, which can be submitted to an online server.
The original game resolution is 160×100, but the game can be played in
fullscreen with an optional colour mode and enhanced lighting effects. Level
passwords are supported.
