## Description
_Hiversaires_ is a first-person adventure game with minimal instruction and
no written text (outside the game’s own pictographic language) or spoken
dialogue. The character is controlled by turning and navigating through the
world, and progress is made through unlocking new areas by interacting with
mechanical and technological devices throughout the world. Some items can be
collected and replaced in order power devices in the world. According to the
developer, the game is meant to encourage out-of-game problem solving
including note-taking and map construction.
The game is made up of pre-rendered scenes as in Myst. By exploring the world
and interacting with its devices in a trial-and error manner, the player makes
discoveries that lead to unexpected non-Euclidian navigation of the
environment. The game’s visuals are high contrast, primarily monotone scenes,
and is accompanied by a sparse soundtrack also composed by the
designer/programmer.
