## Description
_Halma_ is a player vs computer, mouse controlled, implementation of an board
game from the 1880’s which has much in common with the classic _Chinese
Checkers_ game. This game also has the option of playing against another
player over the internet.
The original version of the game is played on 16×16 board with the player’s
pieces occupying opposite corners of the game area. In their turn a player may
move any of their pieces one square in any direction, alternatively they may
jump over an adjacent piece, of either colour, and keep on jumping as long as
there are pieces to jump and the player wishes to continue. The object of the
game is to move all pieces into the opponent’s area. This implementation also
comes with a French variant called ‘Grasshopper’ which is the same game but
adapted to play on an 8×8 standard chess board.
The games play in a small window, are mouse controlled, have optional music
and sound effects plus an internet play option. The strength of the AI
opponent can be varied, there is a save game feature and the game keeps track
of the moves played and has the option to print these.
