## Description
On April Fools’ Day 2014, Google teamed up with Pokemon for an event where
players catch Pokemon in real-world locations. The game was playable through
the Google Maps application on mobile devices for one day only. Players
started out at a Pokemon Lab in one of five locations around the world. The
player must then scroll around the world looking for Pokemon icons. Pokemon
are caught by tapping their icon. 150 Pokemon are initially available, 25 from
each of the 6 Generations. Each specific Pokemon is always found in at least
one specific location (for example, Scraggy can be found in Shanghai, China
and Alcatraz Island, California, USA). After all these Pokemon are caught, Mew
can be found roaming random locations around the world, most commonly found
around the Amazon River.
Players who caught all 151 Pokemon got congratulatory letters and Pokemon
Master business cards from Google the following June.
