Galaxy on Fire: Alliances is the next installment of the mobile sci-fi series, launched in 2005 on Java-based smartphones. Unlike the previous parts of the cycle, which combine elements of action and simulator, this time we are dealing with a MMORTS strategy, created with a view to having fun together with thousands of players. The creators of the series from Fishlabs Entertainment studio are responsible for the creation of the game, while the publisher is an experienced Koch Media company.
The action of the game was set in the universe known from previous editions of the series – in the Shroud Nebula region, in which there are more than 200 thousand planets. Players can take sides with one of the three factions: Terran, Nivelian and Vossks, which differ in the types of units and technologies used. The game boils down to developing one’s own galactic empire, and the players’ tasks include building up a star base, collecting raw materials and artifacts, improving technology, producing spacecraft and conquering territories belonging to other players.
Interestingly, in Galaxy on Fire: Alliances the player is not only responsible for his own domain, because each action he takes affects the overall performance of the whole faction. A characteristic feature of the game is a multitude of forms of cooperation and rivalry between players. Success can therefore be achieved in many different ways, including through diplomacy and alliances with other users belonging to the same faction. It is also worth noting that in space battles between factions can take part at the same time even several hundred players.
For mobile conditions, the Galaxy on Fire: Alliances features an impressive graphic design that is maintained in the current series style. Production is available in a free-to-play business model supported by micropayments.
