## About This Content
First designed by RS Johnson in 1940, the Globe Swift overcame many obstacles
en route to production.
Shortly after the aircraft was initially designed, World War II broke out,
which meant the aircraft was unable to obtain certification until May 1946
after a series of design modifications carried out by KH ‘Bud’ Knox.
In the late 1940s, Globe become insolvent and the type certificate for the
Swift was acquired by Temco, that later used it to build other aircraft. Temco
modified the Swift, with the intent to make it one of the first post-war
military trainers.
This model is based on the original ‘A’ version.
