Fobos
Space beetles are attacking your space stations and you are the only hope for
defending it.
You are driving an unarmed space craft, which hovers over the playfield, which
consists of squares. You can only move from one square to another, and only
horizontal or vertical. But you are able to fly short ranges, crossing chasms
that way.
And with this unarmed craft you have to kill the invaders. A contradiction?
Actually not. You use you space craft to ram the invaders, driving them of the
edge of the playfield. Once all invaders are floating in space, you have won
the level. But if you drive over the “cliff” yourself, you have lost a life.
However, it is not so easy. Depending on the strength of the invaders, you
have the advantage to drive them away, or they have the advantage to drive you
away. In addition, you have to prepare for the recoil, which may kill you
while you try to kill the enemy.
You have to collect a special strength power-up to enhance your strength, that
way you can even beat mighty opponents.
Besides this special power-up, there are also plenty of other power-ups in the
game, like paralyzer (stops all invaders), increase or decrease speed, level-
skipper, an atom bomb (destroying some squares), and others.
If you take too long in a level, meteor strikes will begin to impact on the
playfield, destroying random squares.
The game itself offering four game modes, Arcade , Arcade for Two ,
Advanced Arcade , and Strategical , all totaling in 248 levels.
