Evelin’s Mirth

You wake on the tracks. The air is silent, still and filled with the smell of gravel and iron. Your fingers taste like blood and… something else. There is no memory, only a sense of hollowness and dread. There is nothing to do but try to reach the end…

Evelin’s Mirth is designed as a horror game with emphasis on atmosphere and randomization. There are few actual jumpscares as long as the player remains careful and collected to avoid hazards. A ticking thirst bar demands you play carefully and conservatively, and while the content of the areas is spawned randomly the layouts are consistent (though also chose at random). This game is heavily inspired by Spooky’s, and is intended to build on that platform, though the levels themselves will be more complex in nature.

This game is under active development by the codemonkey, but the artist has since moved on to pursue bigger and better things. Levels, environments, monsters, bugfixes and small new game features will continue to be added semi-regularly, as some art has yet to be incorporated into the game. There are no available resources to create the storymode, so this will not be a feature in the future.

All of the artwork, including textures, sprites, sounds and music has been created exclusively by a single artist who worked on this game. The game is intended to be free and freely distributed. If you would like to show support, please check out the artist:
