A multiplayer co-op adventure, Errant Knight takes place in a land of scattered villages and forests where the townsfolk are being overtaxed and mistreated by the king. As lowly serfs, you and your friends must gather other villagers under the banner of rebellion, eventually leading to the siege and capture of the tyrannous king’s castle.
In their journey to raise the ragtag army, players must first acquire the trust and support of the villages by showing them hope for a better future. Players may accomplish this in a number of different ways such as providing food to relieve their heavy taxation or warding off bandits.
NPC villages suffer the same consequences of starvation and bandit attacks as you do, and as your army grows so does your need for a stable supply of food and equipment through farming and crafting.
Keep morale up by listening to your troops’ food preferences and cooking quality meals. The issue of quartering new recruits may be resolved by setting up cheap tents or building more generous and cozy buildings. A mess hall will eventually be needed for cooking larger numbers of meals.
Fighting is done in real time through managing your soldier’s movements and style of attack and coordinating charges and retreats with your friends. Control over your party composition is provided, giving the player the freedom to choose which soldiers to take with them onto the battlefield, adapting to whatever situation is encountered.
