Dudeski is a two-dimensional endless runner in which we rush down the slope on skis, running away from a huge avalanche. The production was designed by Static Oceans Corporation, co-created by Benedict Fritz and Gerald Kelly. The title appeared on mobile devices.
In Dudeski, the player takes on the role of a skier who descends on the slope of Shred Lord, as powerful as the mysterious mountain. It is worth mentioning that he does it at the break of his neck – the reason for this is the avalanche rushing behind it, which is approaching inexorably with every missed ski goal. As if that wasn’t enough, procedurally generated route doesn’t lack obstacles (in the form of bushes, trees, rocks, ice traps, and later also the yeti), which can interrupt the attempt to reach the foot of the mountain at any time.
The aim of the game is to cover as much distance as possible. A variety of improvements (e.g. a crash helmet, or better skis for faster downhill) and helpful shortcuts that the player unlocks during meetings with mountain penguins help in this process. The role of currency is played by cones found along the way. The mountain itself is divided into four sections: Peak, Forest, Yeti Valley and Totem Avenue. They differ in appearance and type of obstacles that determine the level of difficulty.
The title surprises at many moments, mainly with surrealist insertions, the intensity of which increases as you climb the next meters of the mountain. They perfectly harmonize with the two-dimensional graphic design maintained in an old-school style.
