Down the Mountain on the iOS and AND platforms is an endless runner game with infinite gameplay. The production was developed by an independent studio Umbrella, associated primarily with the successful, minimalist Boom Dots. The title was made available in a free model with optional micropayments.
In the production, inspired by the classic Q*Bert, we play the character descending down a decaying, randomly generated slope. The aim of the game is, of course, to make as many moves as possible before we are absorbed by nothingness or fall into one of the many obstacles.
These traps play a leading role in Down the Mountain. The beating of records is disturbed by rapid streams, trees, spikes protruding from the ground, lava coming out of the mountain, mines and animals inhabiting the slope. It is also a big problem for car drivers, who travel at a crazy pace across the slope of the road.
Just as important as a good score is to get as many stars as possible. They are used to unlock alternative heroes, who together have found themselves in the game over 60. However, they differ only in appearance, so unlocking them is not necessary to enjoy the fun.
The title can boast a not very advanced, but eye-catching isometric graphic design. It brings to mind one of the biggest mobile hits – Crossy Road. The control system is as simple as possible, so you can successfully control the gameplay with one finger.
