Mario was born with this game, and so was Donkey Kong
It's a really boring game
Look, I really understand the impact of Donkey Kong, and I also know it’s a classic beyond classics. But I really don’t care.
I hate this game.
There. I said it. Put yourself in my shoes. I was a sniffling little poor boy, waiting for my parents to come home with the games they rented for the weekend (yeah, you could do that back in the day, you know). You were hoping for Super Mario Bros. but instead you got this pile of garbage with a stupid fat monkey on the cover.
And why?
Because your parents saw that Mario dude on the cover with a cool hammer. Well, mom and dad: here’s my mid finger pointing at you from an adult perspective back to my childhood. Thanks a lot for spoiling my weekend, to the point where I actually started to look forward to school on monday.
I never saw the brilliance with Donkey Kong, but it might be because I missed the hype.
