## Description
_The Banker’s Wife_ is a sequel to the Detective Agency hidden-object
adventure featuring detective James Casey as the protagonist. His first case
revolved around the theft of an art piece at the museum and this time he will
search for the missing person. One day, he receives a phone call from Carter
Burton, a wealthy banker, asking him to find out what has happened to his wife
who went missing.
While the game still focuses on searching hidden objects and solving puzzles,
the interface and gameplay have been quite altered in comparison to the first
game. Dialogue is now done using character portraits on top of backgrounds
while the first game used comic style cut-scenes. The hidden object hint
system no longer uses a metal-detector like technique but instead shows you
the shape of the missing object. It can also specifically show you where it is
placed if you spend a hint on it.
A new element is the inventory system which lets you hold on to certain
objects and use them to interact with others on the screen. You can also
freely traverse rooms and go back and forth leaving found items half
unfinished. It is also possible to switch between the hidden-object search
list and inventory objects during gameplay which makes this sequel much less
linear than just going one room at the time as in the original game. Puzzles
are now accessed when you click on them and not in between hidden-object rooms
as before, so you can pretty much move between rooms and take on what you want
to solve and return to it later if you leave it unsolved.
